We're delighted to welcome Indian Chef extraordinaire Arun Kapil to the School of Food for a morning of winter warming Indian dishes. Arun Kapil is an Anglo-Indian food entrepreneur, spice expert, and founder of Green Saffron – multi-award-winning purveyors of the finest spices, rice, sauces and spice blends you'll ever experience and we're very excited to have him at the School of Food. 

Throughout the morning students will watch Arun demonstrate a variety of winter warming Indian dishes which they will then follow by cooking up an Indian storm in the kitchen under the watchful eye of Arun!

About the Chef

Arun Kapil is an Anglo-Indian chef, food entrepreneur, spice expert, and founder of Green Saffron, the multi-award-winning purveyors of the finest spices, rice, sauces and spice blends, based in Cork.

From a family of spice traders and great home cooks, now based in Midleton in County Cork by way of Lincolnshire and Uttar Pradesh, Arun was born to a Yorkshire mother and Hindustani father, and grew up under the influence of a fusion of flavours – classic British dishes from his mother and exciting, exotic spices from his father. 

Growing up, it was all about good food and the appreciation of simple, quality ingredients. From his mum teaching him to bake cakes and buns to his dad’s bowls of chickpeas and lentils soaking overnight and a kitchen filled the next day with the gorgeous scent of beautifully fragrant, hot, sweet spices, the combination of home cooking and the magic of spice has always been a part of Arun’s DNA.
